Sledding

Last Thursday we got a layer of sleet followed with 7" of snow! It usually doesn't snow in December so it was fun to have snow this early in the season. We have a great place to sled by our house, so we have been going everyday for a little while. Temps have been hovering in the teens and single digits so we have only been able to stay out for short burst of time.

















Peyton's first time to sled. He is riding with our neighbor Blake. Poor guy has his sister's pink gloves on. His waterproof ones are too small.

After sledding we made snow ice cream!





Day two of sledding! Today it was FREEZING!!!! I think the wind chill was around 5!





I believe that I have a snow baby. She can't get enough of the snow and sledding!





Ian and Lee held down the fort while we were out by indulging in some good ole' egg nog. Ian LOVES it! He squeals when Lee gets it out!

Baked ornaments

Today we had a snow day so were inside all day. I had been wanting to try and make some baked ornaments so I gave it a whirl. Here's the recipe for salt dough ornaments:

• 2 cups flour
• 1 cup salt
• 3/4 cup water (more or less)

Mix/kneed dough and roll out 3/4" thick. Cut desired shapes, poke a hole in each shape at the top to allow for a hanger or ribbon. I used a straw and it worked perfectly!
Bake for 20 minutes. I flipped them after 10 mins.
Cool and decorate.
My kids painted them and decorated with glitter glue and glitter. I put a coat of modge podge on them to seal the glitter in.
They turned out cute!


















We had plenty or ornaments so our neighbors came over to decorate with us. The kids had a great time painting and adding LOTS of glitz to their creations!!!

Ian

Just a quick note because I don't want to forget it. I've been singing Jesus Loves Me for months to Ian before bed. This week he has begun to sing with me. He has Jesus down pretty good and can hum the tune consistently. It melts my heart to hear him praise the Lord at such a young age.

I love putting him to bed!!
It's our special time together.

Halloween

The Picture below is the ONLY picture that I got of all three kids. The minute we opened the front door the kids were off to meet with the other kids on the street. Lee ran up and set Ian down with Faith and Peyton to take a quick picture but he was more focused on momma holding him, so he was not a happy camper.

When asking Peyton what he wanted to be for Halloween he quickly replied “a Bulldozer”. My first thought was, Target doesn’t have those, pick something else.ha! I figured that he might change his mind over the coming weeks anyway, but no, still bulldozer, bulldozer. Guess this is where my creative juices had to start flowing. I made the dozer out of a diaper box. I spray painted it yellow, formed the scoop from the diaper box sides and black poster board. The track was made of cardboard and black ribbon. He LOVED it! I actually had a lot of fun putting it together.

Faith was Doc McStuffin. She loves that show, and knew what she wanted to be for months. Ian was a puppy dog, not a COW, as a few people commented. (no names mentioned)

We went around the neighborhood with all the other hundreds of kids. Faith was running as fast as she could from house to house, and Peyton was tagging along close behind. Ian just stayed in the stroller and took in the events of the night. All in all it was a fun night.

There's a fire on this mountain

Today we had our first camp fire on the property. The previous owner's had a fire pit area that hadn't been used in years. Lee cleaned it out last weekend and got it usable again. Today we tested it out. We cooked out dogs and s'mores! It was a great time, and knowing that we were doing it on our very own property was really neat! Peyton isn't feeling very well so we only stayed out there for a couple of hrs. I brought the boys home to rest while Faith stayed out there to hike around with daddy.

I LOVE fall time in Arkansas!
