Sunshine

 I took photos of Ian the other day and Faith was eager to have me take shots of her too. So today I got this PRE-C-I-OUS little smocked dress in the mail, she tried it on,  and I just had to take a few photos. Her smile just brightened my day. She is just as pretty on the inside as she is on the outside. Her heart for others amazes me everyday.

Things I love about you are:

The way you make jokes like your daddy. Your teacher says that you have a great sense of humor and you make jokes all the time. She even took a video of you the other day, because she wanted me to see how animated and funny you are. The way you make up words to songs and never miss a beat keeps me laughing. The way you “mother” the boys reminds me of me when I was your age.

I love you more than words sweet girl. It’s hard to believe that you are already 4 years old. I am so thankful that the Lord gave you to me!

 

   

Date night

Peyton and I went on date night at Chick-fila on Thursday night. Where else would you go on date night?!?!?
There was a fire truck there for the kids to look at. Peyton had fun looking at all the gadgets and climbing up on the truck.

Go fly a kite

Friday was the perfect day to fly a kite! It was 75 degrees and WINDY!! When Lee got home from work we took the kids to an un-developed subdivision by our house where there were no trees. Faith had a princess kite, and Peyton had a green pig kite. The kites were up in the air within seconds. Peyton took his job of flying his kite very seriously. We told him to not let go of his kite and he took it ALL to heart. He held his kite and watched it for 45 minutes plus.....
He wouldn't take his eyes off if it!!! It was really cute! Faith did a good job too with her kite. She just wasn't as serious about it as P was.
Mom was up for the weekend so she came along with us.















Peyton wanted to play in the dirt but was trying so hard to stay focus on the task at hand.....

9 months

It’s hard to believe that my little man is 9 months. I don’t know where the time has gone! We are going to be celebrating his first birthday before I know it! I think he has grown up the fastest of all three kids. I still think of him as a newborn. The other day at his check-up the doctor asked if he was pulling up yet, and I thought in my head,”no-way!!!, he’s only a baby”. I guess I will always think of him that way, since he's my youngest.
He has started to get up on all fours. I don’t think it will be long until he crawls. He can get anywhere he wants to go by scooting or rolling. He is always on the move!!
He has transitioned into Peyton’s bed very well, and is still sleeping 12+ hrs a night. We had a few nights that were rough lately where he was waking during the night, but I think we have gotten past it now.
He is babbling and saying dadda a lot! Hope momma comes next! He loves to watch Peyton and Faith play. It won’t be long until he is right in there with them. One of my favorite parts of the day is rocking him and giving him a bottle before bed. That is our time together. I hope he lets me rock him till he's ten!

Ms. Sheila sent the kids hot dog cutters for Christmas. The kids love them! I finally remembered to take a picture. Thanks Ms. Sheila!
Who doesn't love dipping their hot dog into a dog bowl full of ketchup!

snow day

You know your the third child when you are only 8 months old and mom just bundles you up and takes you outside to play in the snow! He was a trooper!

The kids had a great time in the snow! Faith went sledding for the first time. She wanted to stay out until she couldn’t feel her feet anymore!

Peyton enjoyed throwing snowball at all the neighbors! Watch out street for next year. This boy has an arm!

sweet moments

Ok I so I have to write this one down so I don’t forget it…..
A couple weeks ago we hosted community group at our house so we took the kids over to another couple’s house to join their kids and the babysitters. Our group has two babysitters that watch all the kids while we have group every week. But we usually have a sitter come to our house because Ian goes to bed so early its just easier that way. Before we left the house to drop off the kids we had a talk with Faith about watching out for Peyton and helping taking care of him. She took it ALL to heart and said that she would make sure he was OK. A few minutes after we had talked, she came back in the room and said, “mommy, what if I need to go Potty?” She had been back in her room thinking through how she was going to take care of her brother and the thought crossed her mind that she wouldn’t be able to watch him if she was in the bathroom. My heart melted when she said that. What almost 4 yr. old thinks these things through like that…….We talked about her not having to watch him every second and that she should have fun and play too! She has such a tender and mothering heart. When I went to pick up the kids that night, the babysitter told me that Faith had a close eye on Peyton the whole night and that at one point he wanted to go outside where the older kids where playing. She opened the door and announced to everyone that her little brother was coming out and everyone needed to watch out for him and stop swinging! Too precious!
I have no doubt that she is going to be a good momma one day!
Peyton and Faith went down to LR this past weekend with Lee. They decided that they wanted to sleep together in Peyton’s baby bed. They were there three nights, and all three nights they slept in the same baby bed! They didn’t want to be apart.
Since they have been home they have been sleeping in Faith’s room together. Peyton sleeps in the baby bed though because Faith wakes up earlier than he does and it will wake him up if they are in the same bed. These two are best buds!


Tonight was the first night that I put Ian down in Peyton’s room. We will see how that goes. Ian has been sleeping in our closet in the Pack-n-Play! Poor little guy had spent his first 8 months in the closet!
One last moment that I don’t want to forget……Faith and Peyton have chapel at MDO where they take all the kids in the sanctuary together for a Bible story and singing. Both of their teachers have told me how they LOVE to sit together in Chapel. Faith always leaves her class group and goes to Peyton’s class and sits with him. They have been doing this for a while now. I always ask them when I pick them up if they sat together in chapel. Today Faith told me that they “meet at the stairs, and then go to his classes section”. One day I want to see them do that…….. cuteness! My prayer is that they will always be this close!

Playing School

Trying to find the time to work with Faith on pre-K stuff has been quite challenging. It seems that there is never ANY TIME! I am resorting to making random moments through the day  “learning” moments.Peyton has become really interested in learning too. He seems to be more enthusiastic than Faith. Over the past month or two Peyton has started talking like crazy. He’s not just a one or two word boy anymore. He says full sentences. It’s really funny to see “Faith-y” and him have a conversation. (Peyton calls her Faith-y.)

When hubby is gone...

When Lee is gone I tend to pull out the ole sewing machine at night. I'm not much of a tv person. I have the tendencies from mom and grandma (Cat) to stay busy! This weekend it was just Ian and me, so when he was asleep I made a couple of outfits for Faith. Lee better come home soon or Faith's gonna have a new wardrobe! I found a new pattern on Etsy for the shirt/dress. I will have to share the link for it. It's not the clearest tutorial though. It does leave you guessing a little bit on the next step. I wouldn't recommend it if you are just starting out.
Can't wait for Faith to try them on!
