Mommy daughter date

Last night Faith and I went on a date. She picked good ole' CFA for dinner! We had a great time being silly. It was all about her. She picked dinner, the music we listened to in the car, and what we did after dinner. After dinner, we got our nails done. It was Faith's first time to have her nails painted in a salon. It was so much fun! I've been looking forward to the day my daughter and I can do girly things together.

I hope that she always wants to hang with mom. ;)

Five and Bride

Today Faith came out of my closet with my veil on. I honestly don’t know how she got to it. It had been stuffed in the back of the closet for years. It brought back a lot of memories seeing her walk around with it. The last time it had been in anyone’s hair was my WEDDING DAY 8 years ago!

My friend Jenny had told me that she took photos of her girls in her wedding dress, so the thought occurred to me that now might be a good time to do that too. Faith loved it!! I wish that I could have posed her a little better and had a better background but the boys were all about playing with the dress as well, so I just grabbed a couple quick shots before I started loosing beads off the train! I hope to get her dressed in it again soon and try outside photos.

I don’t think Lee thought it was as amusing as me. The thought of his baby in a wedding dress is unthinkable!!!!!!!!

Celebrating Faith

It’s hard to believe that it has been 5 years since Faith was born. Faith is such a blessing to us. I don’t know how I would make it without her. She helps me out so much! He sweet and serving spirit inspires me daily. It always helps to have a second momma around too. 

Faith wanted to have a Garden Fairy Party this year. I had a lot of fun thinking of ideas! The grass was my favorite part of the decorations. The grass is tissue paper that is all connected. It came in a long strip. I cut it into sections for the girl’s placemats. I am planning to use them for Easter too this year! This stuff is awesome!

Each girl received a pair of wings at the beginning of the party. We had 7 little fairies flying around here!!

The girls painted Fairy houses and decorated them with stickers, jewels, and feathers. I’m sure the fairies of NWA are happy to have new houses!

I decided to try my hand at Faith’s fairy cake. I had made Peyton’s in December so I wanted to try it again. The cake was a piece of art but it tasted yummy! I enjoyed making it, but I don’t think I’ll ever be on Cupcake Wars.

When the party was wrapping up, Ian decided that he would help himself to some more cake. He had dug several forks in the cake and was indulging. I caught him on my phone singing “Happy, Happy” to himself. It was priceless!Grandad and Ian before he left. I love these two!

Construction mode

We have had an empty lot across from us the entire time we have lived here. Last week construction began on the lot. We knew that someone had bought it, but it had been several months with no movement so we were not expecting anything until the BULLDOZERS showed up on the scene. The kids were glued to the window in amazement! Fairy wings are required to oversee construction these days.

Ian decided that he needed to do a little “destruction” throughout the house.

Ian decided to throw all his clothes out of his drawers and cabinet. See what I mean when I say “destruction”

After watching through the window all day, the kids couldn’t take it anymore. They had to get closer to the action. It was cold so we bundled up to take a look. I am sure by this time in the afternoon the construction guys were tired of three peering eyes on them. ha! They were so nice though, Benny was one of the driver’s names. He stopped, got off his dozer and took time to talk to the kids and give them the whole run down on his dozer and how me bought it when his son was 4 and he was 29 now. Ha…. I know way too much about this particular dozer. He offered to take each of the kids on a ride. Peyton all the sudden clammed up and declined. I was shocked! After all, this kid was a bulldozer for Halloween! Faith decided that she wanted to give it a whirl though! She did great! Thanks Mr. Benny!

We are sad to see the field go, but look forward to watching a house go up!

Little Prints

The last few days we have had snow once again! It has been a strange winter. We have had snow at least 5 times this winter. Not having school age kids it really doesn’t have too much of an impact on us except that we are stuck in the house a lot! Today the snow/ice started to melt and it was warm out so we decided to go out and play in it. Ian loved walking around and making his “Mark” with his little baby feet. I just had to take some pictures because it was just too cute not too!

It made me thankful for these two little feet and made me appreciate my little ones. So very quickly these little feet will be big feet tromping through the snow, and the simplicity of making footprints in the snow will not be of interest. After seeing all these little prints, I started to pray for my kids that the Lord would guide their footsteps everyday and that they would follow the Lord’s path and not stray. Sometimes it’s so easy to overlook the small things in life such as these little footprints. Many days I feel like I am always meeting “needs” and sometimes forget to just soak in the moments of life as simple as a footprint.

These pictures were from yesterday. Faith has been sledding 4 or 5 times this year. We go to the Middle school in our neighborhood. It’s the perfect hill! She is quite the sledding PRO!

Believe it or not, this is all SLEET!!! I opened the door to find this! We had thunder and lightening sleet!It was crazy!

Toddler to big boy!

My little toddler isn’t my little toddler anymore…..tear….Over the past month or two Peyton has changed from being a baby to a big boy in so many aspects. 2014 has brought a lot of changes for him. He finally decided about 3 weeks ago that he wanted to be done with diapers. I had tried several times over the past 6 months with no luck until one day he just decided to take it upon himself to tee-tee in the potty. It wasn’t anything I did, it was just that he decided he wanted to do it. Until then, it was just a battle of the wills. Peyton is a VERY smart and creative kid. He does things on his own timing. That’s just what happened with him getting himself dressed and riding his bike too. He just decided one day that he was going to ride his bike and that he could get dressed and put his shoes on by himself. I love this guy with all my heart. He keeps me laughing with his witty remarks and funny comments. It’s fun to see each kid’s personality develop as they get older. The kids are each so different.

The other night when putting him to bed-

Me: Peyton I am so proud of you for wearing big boy underwear and going potty!

Peyton: Just doing my job Mom.

Me: Yes, son, you are just doin’ your job.

Where does this kid get this?!? I’m guessing his daddy!

Turned the kitchen into a pirate ship. He was sailing!

Christmas 2013

I just realized that I never posted any pictures from Christmas so here goes. The kids had a great Christmas. Dan and Kathy came up for a few days during Christmas which was a lot of fun!We enjoyed spending time with them and Tuffy (their dog) too!

The weekend after Christmas we went to my parents house to do Christmas there. We were suppose to have Christmas the weekend before, but Matthew’s family had the stomach virus so we postponed our plans until the next weekend.
