It’s a ZOO!

Today we went to the Gentry Zoo for a Wild Safari Tour! I’ve been wanting to go for a couple of years and hadn’t been able to. There were a lot of animals. Lee and I were impressed with how many animals there were and the variety of them. It took us about an hour to drive through and then we finished up with the petting zoo.

When we started the tour Peyton started squealing and banging on the window. He LOVED the animals. Faith sat in Lee’s lap while he drove around. She was a little timid about it all. Peyton kept trying to open the car door and escape while Faith clung tight to dad. Peyton’s attention span only lasted about 20 mins and then he was more interested in the food I had packed and all the control buttons in the front of the car.

Not sure what the proper name for this guy was, but he was digging in the mud with his antlers and throwing mud on his back to cool off. 

Scary Little Wart Hog!

  These ostrich looking creatures had NO fear. They kept coming up to the window and touching his beak to the window. I think he wanted Peyton’s cracker! This guy needed a haircut!

The Camels were quite social today. The came up to every car like we were at a check point! We went to the petting zoo after the drive through. It didn’t last long. Faith was as high on Lee’s shoulders as she could get, while Peyton gave the animals a run for their money. This picture was taken right before P stuck his head through the fence! I was afraid he was going to get nibbled on!

This was right before we left. P was lot and tired! Too much chasing the Guineas around. It was a great day and lots of memories made!

Paint your world!

Thursday I was looking for an activity for the kids to do, so of course I turned to pintrest! I found a recipe for side walk chalk.

Recipe:
1/4 c. cornstarch, 1/4 c. water, food coloring.
I mixed it up and the kids had a blast painting! Thanks Pintrest for entertaining my kids for the afternoon! (mom too)

FYI,
It did come off the sidewalk and kiddos easily!

A little Fish!

A few weeks ago Faith’s Nanny Judy took Faith for a few days so she could take to her Athletic Club for private swimming lessons indoors. I was a little nervous to see how she would react with a stranger taking her into the water alone. She was a little timid the first day but after that she was in full force training for a triathlon! Faith was able to go under water and hold her breath. She would swim to the bottom of the pool and get rings, have a tea party underneath, and ring-around-the-rosie. Her teacher took these pictures of my little fish and sent them to me.

She told Judy that she was VERY impressed with Faith’s swimming skills!

Last day of school

So I cant seem to locate Faith’s first day of school picture!! I’m so mad!! But this one was taken before we went to her open house at school so it was the same time period.

 

This is my girl 9 months later.. She’s so grown up! Look at that smile. CHEESE!!!

A busy week

 

Last week Faith had Daddy’s and Doughnuts at school. This is the two of them before they left. I LOVE Sonshine school at Mount Comfort Church. I have nothing but praises to sing about the program and her teachers.Faith has had a blast this year!

Faith’s Teachers, Ms. Kristina(left) and Ms. Meredith (right). They are such a blessing. Both of them have loved on Faith like she was their own. They have truly displayed God’s Love to her this year. We will miss them this summer.

Faith had her end of the year program last Tues. night. I was busy video taping it, so I didn’t get any pictures! Faith was very excited about it!

 

The weather has been heating up this past week so we have spent lots of time outside playing in the sprinkler. Faith loves it. Peyton is still unsure about it all.  

My sweet friends  

My sweet friends from the neighborhood playgroup threw a shower for me and another girl in the group that is due this summer as well. They made a diaper cake for each of us. It was adorable! I love my neighborhood girls!

On Saturday night we went to an event at Faith’s school. They were raising money to buy more playground equipment. They had a Fun Run for the kids and a 5K race for the adults. Faith ran in her first race! She was SOOO proud of herself! She came in 3rd place in her age group. I was a proud momma of course.

   

Lee placed 2nd place in the 5K! What a stud I have for a husband!

Bath time!

Today I picked up some color tabs by Crayola for the bathtub.
It's a good way to teach secondary colors. Faith loved it when we made purple water!

Breakfast in bed

Yesterday morning I was listening to the kids rummaging through the pantry as they do several times a day but it was only 7:15 am. Next thing I knew they were trooping in the bedroom with breakfast for me in hand. Check it out. They knew what momma likes!

#3 has a name!

We are excited to announce Faith and Peyton will be big sister and brother to................
Ian Michael Pennington! We have
Finally settled on a name. The other day I looked up what Ian means. It means "gift from God". How perfect. He absolutely is a gift from God. Now if we just knew when he was going to make his premier debut! My blood pressure is doing well, so we are just taking it a week at a time for now. I am trying to wrap up last minute details incase I have to go on bed rest.

31weeks and life

It's hard to believe that in two months or less I will be bringing home another little
boy! I'm feeling excited and nervous about how I will be able to handle three, three and under.
These last few weeks have worn me out. I feel like I am running in circles all day long. Peyton is like have two kids in one. He is the most active and curious little guy ever. Some days I seems that I just run from mess to mess.






Today has been one of those days well actually like most days that I wonder why I try to get out of the house. Last night I had problems sleeping on top of faith coming in three times needing assistance to go potty and Peyton woke up twice. So after a great nights rest I was in a "mood". I decided even though i was tired it would be good to get out for a while. We had planned to meet some friends at Fun City at 10:00. Faith was not acting her best due to lack of sleep and Peyton was busy exploring every drawer in the bathroom. I was debating on going because i felt like Faith's attitude didn't deserve an outing, but it was 9:30 and all I had to do was straighten my hair. I turned around to discipline Faith and Peyton reached up on the countertop and grabbed my flat iron. Needless to say he burned the fire out of two of his fingers.
Poor guy screamed for 30 minutes before I decided to put him in the car and head to Fun City to see if the sites would distract him. Half way there he was still crying so I turned around and went back home to get Advil for him. ( a friend of mine suggested it) I decided to try it again. We got there and my plan worked. He stopped crying when we got in there and he had a great time! Faith had a fun time as well. There were a few kindergarten girls there that took faith in under their wing. It was so cute to watch them interact. She cried when we left because she didn't want to leave the "nice girls". I was worn out when we got home but was glad we made it out. Everyday is an adventure at our house! Raising kids is the best and hardest thing I've ever done!
