Jesus Loves All the Little Children

I have to write this one down so I don’t forget it! It’s too funny to not make note.

The other night the kids and I were singing a few songs as we usually do before bed, and we were singing “Jesus Loves the Little Children”. I started to sing the 2nd verse which is, “Jesus died for all the children”, and Faith joined in with me. Peyton quickly replied with, “mom, don’t sing the diaper part”. I just kept singing it and he kept saying the same thing. After trying to figure out what he was talking about, I figured out that he thought we were saying, “diaper” instead of “died for”!! I couldn’t help but die laughing. Faith thought it was funny too. So now every night we sing that part, Peyton LOVES to yell, “don’t sing the DIAPER part”…. there’s never a dull moment around here. sweet moments!

Ian’s Baby dedication

It’s been a tradition to dedicate each child on Mother's Day. Fellowship has baby dedications throughout the year, but it just seems right to dedicate these little guys to the Lord on Mother’s Day. The Lord has blessed us beyond measure with each child He has given us. Each one has a special contribution to the family.

Lee’s and my prayer is that Ian will follow the Lord all his days and he will come to know the Lord at a young age. We feel that the Lord has big things in store for this sweet gentle child. Ian we love you more than words.

My parents came up for the dedication. It was nice to get to celebrate Mother’s Day with my own Mother. She has dedicated her life to us kids and un-selfishly given her all to her children. 

Pop’s 88th Birthday

We celebrated Pop’s 88th birthday in Carlisle on June 2nd. I have been looking forward to getting everyone together for a long time. It seems like it is so hard to coordinate everyone’s schedule! We had 38 people this year. God has blessed me with such a wonderful family. It all started with two special people! I didn’t realize until I was an adult how rare it is for families to all get together and love being around each other. We had a blast together. Thank you Pop for all you do for us and how you love each and every one of us!

The only disapointing thing about the weekend was that the birthday party was suppose to happen on Saturday the 1st, but due to the weather it was postponed to Sunday which meant that Matthew and Chanie weren’t able to make it. They had to go back to Houston Sunday morning. We really wished that they could have made it. There have been 5 babies born in 1 yr! It would have been neat to have them all together!

When the rain let up on Saturday, mom and dad drove to Newport to get Pop, so Pop could see Chanie Kate, Matthew and Chanie.

We had a little birthday celebration at my parent’s house.

 

Sunday EVENTS

On an EMBARRASSING NOTE!!!!! You may notice a few scratches across the hood of the gator. Peyton got behind the driver’s wheel and ran the thing up under Keaton’s truck bumper! I was so mortified!! It was brand-new! It put some good size scratches on the hood and broke off a clip on the windshield. I apologized over and over….. BOYS!!! EEK!

Uncle Mart and his boys fried up some fish for the crew!! These country boys know how to fry up some fish I tell ya! I can still taste it!

Sonshine School Program

Sonshine School had their end of the year program at the end of May. The kids did so well up on stage. They both sang their little hearts out. They both had great years and made some great friends.

Ian’s Birthday

 

Ships Ahoy!

Ian celebrated his FIRST birthday on June 19th. June birthdays are so nice as far as the weather goes. We just invited the neighbors on the street to come have some cake and ice cream after dinner. It was nice not to have to worry with the house or do a lot of prep work. We were able to celebrate this little guys birth on his actual birthday.

He had a great time with his cake!! He was a little hesitant at first, but when he got the hang of it, there was no holding back!! We are so blessed to have this little guy in our lives. He brings so much joy to our family. We look forward to watching Ian grow up over the years. 

I love to design invitation and announcements. It allows me to dig into my “design skills”.  I really didn’t need an invite since it was just our neighbors who I practically see everyday, but, it was fun to design anyway.

Rick’s Bakery decorated the cakes. I think they turned out really precious!

  I scrubbed the high chair before the party and had it perfectly clean!! After you see the pictures below, you will agree I should have just waited until after the party!

Getting a family picture is a rare occasion around here. EVERYONE is actually looking in this one!

My sweet mom came up for the event. She was a huge help as always. She had the job of giving Ian a bath after eating cake!
