A new do...

Last week I went to get my hair cut and decided it was time for a change. I have wanted to do something different for quite some time, but just haven't taken the plunge. This week was the week. I decided to go for the "bangs" look.

Mom ever so lovingly wouldn't let me have bangs as a kid so I have ALWAYS wondered how they would be. I decided on some side bangs so I can just ease into them. Ha! I need a haircut also that is quick and on the go!

Here's the final product. I love them!

Treat for two

I gave Peyton a Popsicle this weekend and when I turned around in the kitchen this is what I saw.

Love and marriage

Cute convo. I need to write down before I forget it. This took place yesterday.

Faith- Peyton when I grow up will you be my husband?

Peyton- uh huh.

Faith- because I love you and Peyton I will be your wife.

Faith- we will have kids one day.

Faith- Mom, can I marry Peyton one day?

Me- well people usually don't marry their brothers, but I am so glad to hear that you love your brother so much.

Kids are so stinkin' funny!
It was more of a one sided conversation but so sweet l love knowing that they love and care for each other so much.
We try to instill everyday how we are a family and we have to take care of our brothers and sisters.
Ill have fun reminding Faith of this conversation one day. Ha!

4th of July

Today was a great day! All day I was reminded of how blessed I am, and how I LOVE spending time as a family. I am so thankful for this country and for all who fight daily for this country.


Nana Judy bought the kids all matching shirt. They looked so cute in them!


This morning Lee took Faith and Peyton to Lowes while Ian and I went on a walk. The weather has been so nice around here lately, so I want to take full advantage of being outside.


The kids checked out these chairs at Lowes. Peyton's face and leg up is priceless!


We made homemade ice cream when they came home. It was a hit as always. It is papa Dan's special recipe.

















After naps we hit up the baby pool. Faith came up with the idea of putting the slide in the pool.



Ian stood on the edge waiting for a splash!



He got soaked and loved every minute of it!

After the kids swam we grilled steaks out for dinner, then went for fireworks and finger foods at our neighbors house! We have the BEST street in town! We do so much together! Pictures will be posted soon. I have them on my camera.
Peyton was pretty spooked by the fireworks so Lee took him home where Ian was already sleeping. Peyton and lee watched a little OSO while Faith and I hung out for a bit. At 9pm Faith and I went to Mount Comfort Church of Christ to watch their firework show. It is always quite a show!!!






When we got home Lee and Faith went out to shoot more fireworks and let Faith run around with the neighbor kids. I worked on trying to get Peyton to bed, but with all the "pops" outside it was a chore. I think everyone crashed around 11pm. It was a packed and fun filled day!!!!

Rice, white and blue

Craft #3- today we made pictures with red and blue colored rice. The kids loved creating their own personal art. The first few I drew with glue and they put the rice on the glue and shook them off. I tried to encourage a patriotic theme. But Peyton's request was a rhino. and a hippo. You should have seen me trying to make a glue drawing of the two. When lee got home I asked him what they were and he said an alligator and could determine the other. Oh we'll we tried.
To make the colored rice I just put a tablespoon of vinegar and 7-8 drops of food coloring in a ziplock bag and then added a cup of rice. Shook it until the rice was covered with color and then poured it out to dry on a cookie sheet. Let it dry for about an hour before you use it.

Red, white and blue

4th of July craft #2- Today the kids and I made sugar cookies. We wanted to make stars but I realized that I didn't have a star cookie cutter. So, we just settled for the red and blue sprinkles on the cookies. I forget how much of a mess making sugar cookies is!!!












Masterpiece. I'm thinking of starting a cookie business. What so you think?!?!


Peyton decided he wanted to lick the icing off his cookie. I promise he didn't lick any of the other cookies. Ha!

Oh my stars!

This week I am planning on trying to do a fun 4th of July craft everyday until Thursday. I have to admit I didn't come up with this one on my own though. I saw it on Pinterest. All I did was cut out a star template using a pizza box top from last night and then the kids sprayed the grass inside the template with water and then sprinkled flour on it. I used a small strainer. The instructions used a sifter, but my kid's hands weren't strong enough to sift the flour. Anyway, it turned out so cute! We may practice our letters with this technique!
