punkin patch 2013

Today we made our 5th annual trip to the McGarrah pumpkin patch. It was the PERFECT day to go. The weather was 61 and sunny. The last couple years that we have gone, it has been really warm. Today the sky was a beautiful blue and a nice crisp breeze in the air.













 
Poor Ian is cutting 4 molars so he has a constant stream of drool running off his chin.He is a trooper though. He doesn’t let it get him down.

Fall banner

I had decided not to do much for fall decor this year but when the weather cooled down last week and I had my first pumpkin spice latte, I decided that I wanted to do a little decorating. Guess its in my blood.....
I made a little fall banner to go on the mantle. Best part was, it was free! I had everything I needed to make it. Burlap, twine, black paint, and fabric scraps.

Riding the bus

The other week the kids and I joined Shelley and her boys in riding the university bus to campus. The kids always see the buses around town and have wanted to ride them! The kids had a great time and it was a good cultural lesson for all.
Since then the kids have wanted to ride the bus again, but this time to the mall. Shelley found a good place to get on the bus to go to the mall. It was PACKED!!! And I must say, full of a variety of people. Ha!
Shelley and I with our 6 kids stood out just a wee bit from the crowd of students. Ha! Shelley and I were enjoying being with the kids and chattin' it up when we noticed that we missed the bus stop at the mall!!! We just looked at each other and died laughing. We realized we beeded to pull the cord to notify the bus driver we wanted to exit. Oops! The next stop was Walmart so we got off the bus and decided to walk up to McDonalds for some ice cream. The kids enjoyed it all the same as the mall. ;) I'm sure we got some funny stares as we were bustling our children across the busiest intersection in Fayetteville!




But never the less it was fun. We arrived back at the bus stop at Walmart about an hr later and a spanking or two (for running away from momma). I won't name who the culprit was....
We THOUGHT we only had a 10-15 min ride home, but to our SURPRISE it was 1 hr and 15 min. bus ride home!!!!!! Yes 1:15! All the kids did great though! Ian and Preston were antsy toward the end, but who wouldn't be. It was a fun and learning experience for all. Next time maybe I will study the bus route a little better. ;)

Cibderella performance at ACO

A week ago Sunday Faith and I went to see the ACO performance of Cinderella. Faith has only been to one movie and no live performances so I wasn't sure if it would keep her attention. She loved every minute of it! She was very attentive and really enjoyed it. My friend Sarah invited a group if girls to go. It was a fun outing for us girls.











After the show, the characters came out and took pictures with the kids. Faith was in awe of them.


Faith happen to run into one of her best buddies Faryn at the show.


Cinderella did an amazing job. She was only 14 or 15. I spoke with her father but I can't remember her exact age.

A visit with the cousins

Yesterday the kids and I loaded up and went to Harrison to visit my SIL Chanie, and her sweet little girl Chanie Kate. Chanie lost her mom to cancer a week ago Sunday so Chanie has been in Harrison helping get things in order. We don't get the chance to see each other that much since they live in Houston, so I thought it would be a good chance for the kids to play and for Chanie and I to visit. I think it was more chasing kids and meeting needs than visiting, but it was still good to hug her neck and love on CK. We drove through Wendy's and went to a local park in Harrison. Kids had a great time even though it rained part of the time.




















These two are going to have fun together in a few years!




It's a little hard to see here, but Ian had ringlets from the steamy weather. I had never seen his hair so curly! Aunt B might have to give us some tips on curly hair in a couple years. Ha!

Pickin pumpkins

Monday my neighbor Beth and I took our kids to a little pumpkin patch in Tonitown. It was fun to watch the kids run around in search of the perfect pumpkin. I can't believe that it's that time AGAIN! I was able to get some really great shots of the kids as well as a take home a few pumpkins. I love this time of year. Fall is my favorite season. I am have several activities I want to do with the kids in the next month. Here are a few shots from the day.
